Sometimes I wish I had footage of the highlights of our years so I can play them back on NYE like the big networks can . I would love a “Year in Review Montage”. I suppose I just have to try to rely on memories, scary I know. I am not know for my sharp memory recall.
This year started a little rocky with mom being in the hospital and prognosis uncertain. But we found that in the middle of all of the uncertainty God had us in the palm of his Glorious hand. Mom is one tough and special lady. She never complained and took it all in stride. She is an inspiration.
Disneyland and our entire RV trip were huge highlights for us as well. What a magical place for families. It is priceless to watch your children experience Disney.
We enjoyed the sandy beaches beneath our bare feet, palm trees around us and precious family memories.
This year the kids were in 3rd and 1st grade. Both have wonderful teachers and great classmates, what a blessing.
We have loved growing our old friendships and creating several new and wonderful friendships.
Enjoyed going to Gillian’s baseball games this summer and Hayden’s basketball games this Fall.
Have been blessed to hear our children take to and learn the piano.
Gillian and her best friend are dancing together again, with a new ballet studio. Love that they also learn to glorify and praise our Heavenly Father with their dance.
Reading! Along with music reading is another thing that Kip and I feel is important and it has really been a bench mark year for us. Gillian is now reading fluently with the rest of us. Kip has started a streak he hopes to continue for many years. We blew it once but have been holding strong for about 150 days now. We read as a family at least 15 minutes a night. We have read several good books together, we look forward to many more adventure filled nights in the new year.
The Kindle has ‘re-kindled’ my joy of reading and have read so many wonderful books this year. It is such a joy to share the love of reading with friends and my best friend – Kip. I have had the wonderful opportunity to do several wonderful Bible studies with some very dear friends. It has been so good for me to be spiritually challenged and connected with such amazing women.
This year we were able to do some much needed home improvements. I love our new quartz counter tops. Kip added a half wall in our front room area and we took down the half wall that was between our kitchen and family room. Both adjustments have really added alot to our space. The most exciting improvement is that we now have wood floors on the entire lower level of our home. The horrible carpet is finally out of our house!!! We got a new slider, new lighting and updated our guest bathroom.
2010 was a full and amazing year, I pray that 2011 will be even better and full of blessings.
I love your year in review… what a wonderful way to capture your memories for years to come. It’s fun to hear/remember about your year. What a lovely one it has been.
Praise the Lord that your mom is in such a better place than a year ago – continued prayers for her continued recovery and improved health.
I love how you guys read together as a family – what a joy and gift for all of you!
Prayers and hugs to all of you – praying for good health and many blessings for you all.
