I couldn’t resist the opportunity to share a few thoughts about Valentines Day.
As adults we often find ourselves merely going through the motions for this holiday of LOVE. Just recently I saw this on a piece of flair “Happy Forced Love Day!” and had to laugh. It seems we adults put too much pressure on ourselves to make this holiday something more than what it really is. It isn’t about $200 roses , the biggest chocolate heart or a fancy dinner out. It is about expressing love to the special people in our lives.
It is about silly little valentines and fun pink and red treats.
If you need proof that this is true, volunteer in your childs classroom on Valentines Day and see what the buzz is all about. To see these young-uns all excited about decorating their valentine mail boxes and passing out the special valentines for their friends, that is what Valentines Day is all about. Taking part of the classroom parties really brought back the ‘fun’ in Valentines day for me.
Enjoy Valentines Day this year…eat a heartshaped cookie or candy and share silly Valentines, who needs diamonds and roses?
I love the photos and I couldn’t agree more!!! Great job on G’s 50th day shirt Both your children look like they are having a ball – and I know how much they love having you in their classroom.
And -you couldn’t be more right about V-day being just another day (among many) for us to express to those we love how much we love them. It isn’t about diamonds or roses (although if I get either I certainly won’t complain) but it’s not the expectation!
Happy Vday to you and your precious family!
Oh what fun! I sure do remember how much I loved these days. You are so lucky to be able so share this with the wii little ones! Thanks for the pictures and I am sure they will always cherish these memories! They are such sweeties! G and H, will you be my valentine, forever?
