With nearly two weeks of school under our belt, I am left with the precious memories of Summer 2009 as we have reluctantly let go of the carefree, fun filled summer days and traded them in for days full of routine and school.
We spent a lot of time this summer camping and exploring the mountains of our beautiful state. We spent one weekend at a cabin near Silverthorne with good friends. It was a great weekend filled with hiking, resting, fellowship and birthday celebrations.
One morning we were visited by a couple Moose. We eye-spied the couple later that evening in the brush but they never ventured back into plain view during our visit.
We all enjoyed a scenic hike up to a couple of lakes that sat side by side. One of the lakes was filled with huge lily pads, (Lily Pad Lakes). The lillies were in full bloom and they covered one of the two lakes. It was a sight I never dreamed I would see in the mountains.
This was a very memorable weekend for our whole family and are so grateful for the adventure.
Fun pictures! Love the moose shots! And kids sleeping in the car are always precious photos. I love your nature shots – especially the one of the lily pads in the pond/lake. Precious memories!
