How on earth can any person have a Blue Valentines Day when their family loves them so much? I asked myself that all day long and here are some of the things that contributed to the blues.
1. Not making it to either kids Valentines party!
2. I found out my car battery was dead when I went to take Gillian to school. Had to call my poor hubby to come bail us out. (I know it could have been worse, dh could still work across town, we were safe and not in an accident…I know, but still.)
3. I was so stressed about all the errands I had to do in the morning to make the day special that my attitude was a bit sour. But, once again my amazing husband rescued me by reminding me it is not about where we go, what we get or what we eat. It is about who we are with. I am so blessed, aren’t I?
4. Oh, dh and the kids surprised me with chocolate and roses waiting for me when I woke up!!!! I still had to go out and get my Valentines stuff…how bad is THAT?
5. We had a very busy afternoon.
6. We ate pizza!!!
7. But the worst part of my day was when we went shopping as a family to let the kids spend their Valentines money at Target. I had to check out this new detergent Method (tip from my dear friend). So I opened it to smell (no problem). Then my sweet baby asked me if she could smell it and what happens??? The detergent squirts out of the bottle and into my sweet baby girls face. It got her in her eye, nose and mouth!!!! Only I could accomplish this!!! She was such a tough little girl. I carried her and the bottle to find Daddy, so he could read it for us because I couldn’t read the bottle through the tears in my eyes!!! All night she was tasting the soap!!! After many kisses, hugs and apologies she finally says to me, “Mom, it was just an accident, I am going to be okay!”
After looking back and putting a spin of perspective, I realize that it was all just how it was supposed to be, we are all fine, we are blessed to be loved and to be able to love. I even made a Valentines dinner for my family today! Happy February 15th!
Sorry your Valentines wasn’t Red….but the story about Method detergent has me laughing! I’m so sorry G!!! Glad there was no perm. damage!
