Or at least easier.
This weekend we seized the opportunity to sneak out for a little date. What we didn’t know is how hard that has really become. Planning ahead we had a sitter all lined up, so the morning of we went on-line and checked out the movie scene. Hrmmm….There is not a lot to chose from that is not rated ‘R’ and worth paying the big bucks for. The few that we did find started at 8:40 (yeah right!) or they were at The Dollar theater (where you probably shouldn’t go on a weekend night).
We strategized ‘Plan B’. Dinner? Shopping? Both?
Opting for ‘Both’, we picked up the sitter, and headed out. We both felt like steak and baked potato so we headed to Outback. Can you tell, it has been a long while since we have actually gone out on a date? We got to The Outback and found the parking lot full, not just a little full but overflowing, coupled with a wait of over an hour, we turned around and moved onto ‘Plan C’.
Still entertaining visions of steak and potatoes dancing in our head, we moved on to The Saltgrass Restaurant, where again we were met with an hours wait. Plan ’4′? ‘D’?
Taco Bell? No..we ended up going to The Elephant Bar Restaurant that offered only a 35 minute wait. We honkered in and waited and waited and waited. We did enjoy this time to have a nice conversation (a treat in itself) and in the end we tried a new restaurant, enjoyed great service and an equally great meal.
Now we both agree, that we need to plan dates for Monday nights at 4:00 PM.
Mondays at 4 sounds much more realistic! Even though you had to try Plans B, C, D and whatnot….glad you 2 got out!
